Gmail Finally Moves Out of Beta
Google has finally cut the strings and let Gmail, Google Docs, Calendar and GTalk all grow up. Despite the fact that Gmail has been around for five years and is the second most popular email service on the internet according to comScore, it’s still had the beta label. Well, no longer, as of today Google has finally taken Gmail out of beta. Nothing will change, other than the lack of the “Beta” below the names, but Google says it’s catering to their business users, who were having problems with that label.
As someone who didn’t even notice until a few months ago that Gmail still said it was in Beta, it doesn’t feel like it’s been too long in coming. I was excited to see that, after I read the announcement of the change, I got on my Gmail account. It still said Beta but when I refreshed the page I was really excited when the Beta label was gone. The exciting life of a tech blogger.
So go, check out Gmail or any of the Google suite and see the new sans Beta design. It could be fun.
